SPEAKER_03

Hi, and welcome everyone to uh today's live podcasty vloggy type thing. So, as Harry said, tonight at 7 o'clock BST, we have got the live launch of this bad boy charged up by Craig Petty. So join us to find out the full information on this. Get the first look at the trailer. We'll be discussing everything you need to know about this great EDC. This has lived in my wallet since the moment I got the prototypes. It's actually in my wallet now. It is so cool. So join us at seven o'clock tonight. Now, before I go on, we have got our co-host with us today, the amazing Mr. Wayne Goodman. Mr. Goodman. How are you, mate?

SPEAKER_02

I'm alright. I'm very good. I'm hot.

SPEAKER_03

It is very hot. It's actually cool in here, which is surprising, because in the summer this is usually like an oven.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it's like an oven here. I've got fans in another room keeping the front room cool, and I'm gonna be heading back in there after, but yeah, it's uh it's very, very hot in here.

SPEAKER_03

So what's been happening in the world of white oh, I've got some exciting news.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, come on.

SPEAKER_03

Tomorrow we have got a meeting with the Ashma uh Ashford Cinema.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, is that for a new film or something?

SPEAKER_03

Or is that for uh It is for next year's Alakazam Magic Convention.

SPEAKER_02

Boom. So without giving too much away, I know that they're planning some big changes to the not necessarily the screens, but to the whole structure of the building.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Um because there used to be a really good little sports bar that's gone now, and there were other units underneath all clear.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, there was a restaurant, there was a delicatessen, and the cinema's taken over the whole lot. So the layout were the screens are still gonna be the same, but the layout's gonna be different. So our meeting tomorrow really is to get a good idea, have a look at the floor plans, get a good idea of where we're gonna put the dealers, because I'm not sure if that area is gonna be available next year, because from what I heard, they were building little podcast booths and stuff like that up there. So that area may not exist, but I'm I'm hearing two stories. One of them saying it won't exist, someone else saying no, it will be. So tomorrow is our time to go in there and iron it all out.

SPEAKER_02

But that being said, though, Pete, Pete, just to be clear, there will be wherever it is, there will be a dealer section next year.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

The the other thing, and you're thinking, oh, they're not having dealers.

SPEAKER_03

No, no, no, no, no. Well, the the other thing, which is what we're talking about tomorrow, um, downstairs there's a whole new area being built, and they were saying to us that there's gonna be restaurants down there, bars down there, um, and they're saying that that could be the convention hub. There's gonna be plenty of room for dealers and everything. So, what we're gonna find out tomorrow is whether the whole convention, apart from the lectures, which will still happen in the screens, um the whole other part of the convention might be downstairs. So you've got the dealers' room, you've got the chill-out area, you've got your bar, you've got your places to jam, and everything else would be focused downstairs rather than that other little bit, which is going to end up being, I think, a lot smaller upstairs because of the other stuff they got planned. But this is what we're finding out tomorrow. Um, and I just want to put a question out there as well to everyone that's watching, because um we're we're sort of, I will say as well, our first international lecturer has already been booked, um, which is great news. Um now, a question's just come in, more than one day. So I'm gonna ask this question. At the moment, we're still planning on having it the same as it was this year, but let us know in the chat would you prefer the Friday night and the Saturday as it was this year, or a two-day convention, i.e. Saturday and Sunday. Just let us know. I mean, it it'll be interesting to do a little poll to see what people like, but let us know. One day or two day, just say it in the chat. Um so yeah, but that's it's all really exciting. We're all G'd up to to get down there and and get the tickets on sale and everything else, um, and start booking in some more people. Uh uh Will Thompsett said, not in the pub this week, Wayne.

SPEAKER_02

So so when I'm down at Tracy's in Tottenham, the Wi-Fi there isn't very good. So I travel up to um and the whiskey's not as good. Well no, no, I've got my whiskey there, but I got to Potter's Bar and um while Tracy's working, and then I go and sit at the pub and I use their Wi-Fi, and it's normally good enough, so uh yeah, that's alright. Uh but this this week I'm at home. Uh I've spent the weekend in Wales. Absolutely beautiful, it's been great. But a long drive, so I'm shattered. I haven't had a shave, look at that. You never see me like this. I haven't had a shave. Look at that. I know. I need a haircut. That's what I've got to get his hat taken off. It's too hot for this.

SPEAKER_03

It is it is getting really hot. I mean, we went to Jenny had the idea of going to have you heard of Chelsea and Bloom? Yeah. So Chelsea and Bloom, we we go every couple of years. So they they do up Chelsea and there's big flower displays in front of all the shops. So we thought, right, we'll get a train down there on Sunday, have a walk around. So got the train down, got on a tube. Only took us halfway, wouldn't go all the way. So we got out of tube, thought we'll get an Uber. Then there's a big parade going down um was it Piccadilly? I can't remember where we were. So all the roads blocked off. We're waiting half hour for an Uber that's saying we're on our way, only a mile away, only a mile away. After half hour, it just went, I can't get to you. So we walked for about half hour to get there. And you know, it's nice, but it was the last day, so all the flowers are sort of dried out. It was like it was just one of those days, you know, when you think, uh, should have stayed in the garden, really. But no, it was alright. It was alright.

SPEAKER_02

But it's been we travelled up to Wales on Friday, and um, and then on the way back on Sunday we stopped and saw a friend of mine, uh Dangerous Ryan, who used to work in his family. Um yeah, it was just just a long, long drive, but it was beautiful. The the countryside there is is unprecedented, it's just amazing. Uh charged up on castle wallet. Yep. Charged up in my castle wallet. It's always on me now.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Do you know what? Colin Jones has had an incredible tattoo. Colin, I don't know if you can put it in the chat. I don't know if it allows you to, but if you can, put it in here.

SPEAKER_02

Um, you'll know he was at a convention.

SPEAKER_03

So we've had a we've had a few things, uh quite a few people were saying two-day conventions, especially for people that are coming from abroad. He said he can send it to me. He can't put it in the chat, he can send it to me. So let's uh let's see.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, I think I know which one it is.

SPEAKER_03

We'll have a look. Um so we've had a great couple of weeks of uh stuff being uh restocked and everything else. Um and one of these items, which I'm gonna play you now, hasn't been in stock for about eight months and it's just come back into stock. So shall we take a look at this, Mr. Goodman?

SPEAKER_02

Yes, I've just sent you the picture of the tattoo to your messenger. I don't Colin sent it to me, but I sent it to you as well.

SPEAKER_03

Was this an old one or has he just sent it?

SPEAKER_02

He just sent it just now.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, cool. Okay dokes. All right. Um, I will see if I can download it and put it on here. Right, let's take a look at this.

SPEAKER_06

We've been listening, and we are doing just that. But this time, it's an entire project. The last one, I'll go slow motion. Look, do me a favor, I'll hold this one. You take these two, sweep them tightly, give me a chance to take over it. Put your hand under the table right there. Just there, don't do it. Right, what? I'm gonna put the bag here over the table where you're handed. Step one, it goes halfway through the bag, step two, step two, it goes the rest of the way through the bag, through the table, I've been working with this prop for the last 20 years, and I honestly believe there is not a better utility device available for coin magicians than the coin bag. I'm gonna show you how to use this bag to perform absolute miracles. The cool part is you just drop the coins in there and you're ready to go anytime anywhere. Why carry a purse around with you when you can drop everything inside a bag? Every single plastic of magic you can do with a coin bag, but you can do it 20 times more visually, 20 times better. Mine is in my bag, yours is in your hand. I'm gonna try and get mine to jump and join your. Turn your hand over.

SPEAKER_05

No, you don't.

SPEAKER_06

Turn your hand over, open it up. Look at the other side. There's yours. My sticker on your side, your sticker on the other.

SPEAKER_05

Get out of here without doing it.

SPEAKER_06

Oh, and by the way, did I tell you? You can use any coins in the bag. We're gonna supply you with some half dollars, we're gonna supply you with coins so you can get started straight away. But if you want to use coins with your own currency, that's absolutely fine. Anything like that will fit. You see the three coins in there, right? You can see they're in there, you know they're in there. I'm gonna get them out the back one. Turn the bag over. First one's gonna go from here to here. My friend, nothing in my hand, right? Nothing up my sleeve. Any fairy you'd be cheating me once. Rub the back of the hand, rub the back of the back. Already too late, you know why? First one's gone out. That's one that leaves us with two. Check it out, there it is. Now the first coin came out through the top of the back. Watch this one. You see it there? It's invisible. But if I concentrate it, I believe. Last one. You see it over there? Last one. From long distance, don't worry about the back. From here to here. On three. Don't open the hand. Did you feel it? If it's never gonna freak out. Can you handle open? If magic is real, we need a big finish. And if we made a big finish, we'd need something. It's time to take your magic routine to the next level. After all these years, I am proud to say thanks to Alec Asamande, the coin bag is that. My name is Grace Betty, and this is the Coinbag Project.

SPEAKER_03

So that is Bag Reborn. That is back in stock now, and it's been out of stock for quite a few months, so um I'm not sure how many we got left.

SPEAKER_02

Do you know what? Yes, I'm not too proud to say I was proven wrong here, but I've never really liked the coinback.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I've always looked at it as a uh a thing you do it as a throwaway thing, and I never liked it. And then when that came out again in was it 2024?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I think so.

SPEAKER_02

And you said I think I said this to you, you said, Oh check it out. So I got it and I watched it, and I've I was so wrong and out of touch. I was unbeliev I was amazed by the reactions you can get with it. And it's such a great prop and a great trick, and Craig does like like like normal, there's so many routines on there that you just think you think, why why is this never been thought of before? It's it's amazing, yeah, well worth getting.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, it's a great prop and it's a great introduction to CoinMagic as well, because um a lot of the stuff on there, the bag does most of the work for you, yeah. Which is really cool. Um, just want to say to Jack here, Jack charged up. We have got the live launch tonight at seven o'clock right here on Facebook and YouTube, so you can join us for that. Otherwise, it will be available on our site uh around about quarter past seven. And if you are watching from the US as well, um we have already got stock with Chris over in Alakazam USA. So if you order this from either um Alexam UK or um well, you you will order it from Alexam.co.uk, but if you live in America, we have got stock out there, it will ship out to you today or tomorrow. Um so join us for the live launch and you'll get all the information on this bad boy.

SPEAKER_02

We should just reiterate if you are in America and you order from Alexander.co.uk all the orders that go to our American customers ship from our warehouse in California. So, yeah, there's no import or anything like that. Everything goes from California, boom, not some here, some there. It all ships to you from that warehouse.

SPEAKER_03

Yep. 100%. Um charged up is awesome. Picked it up at a convention, one of Craig's best releases. Do you know what? I agree, it's been available in the shop since the convention, um, and every time we demo demo it, it sells. It it's just such a innocent looking thing. It it really is.

SPEAKER_02

It flawed me. When you did it to me in the office, I couldn't get my head round how there were physically five cards there and then there's physically four cards. Yeah, I'm not gonna say anything else because you've not seen it, but it flawed me, the method flawed me. I said to Craig at the convention, I think it's with the exception of the coin sets, it's probably his best release.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, yeah, it's it's great. And I'm not sure, have you customised yours or not?

SPEAKER_02

Uh what, signed them.

SPEAKER_03

No, no, no, because mine I I'm not gonna show I'm gonna show it tonight. I'll I'll tell you after. But um I've got my own cards in there.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, yeah, okay. So you mean um no, I haven't, but I've written jokes for those cards.

SPEAKER_03

Right, yeah, yeah, yeah. Because the card you it comes ready to go anyway, but you can customize it. So we'll go into all that tonight. We won't talk about it too much now because that's all good stuff for the live launch.

SPEAKER_02

Can I can I do a quick shameless plug? Is that a new picture? Oh no, it's not the long bitch.

SPEAKER_03

It's the one that was there before, but it is a new one.

SPEAKER_02

Um I just want to very quickly say, because I I have had people ask me, um at the convention I did a little mini lecturette on the Friday night, and I did a routine in there that I taught that I've never I've done it a few times in lectures, but I've never really had it done where uh a sponge ball routine with a child. Um I just want to say that if anybody's interested in it, I've now filmed it and it is available on my own site, um, WgmagicShop.com um and it's something today.

SPEAKER_03

It's if you do sponge balls, you need to do this.

SPEAKER_02

It is so it's really weird, I was at a wedding on Saturday, just gone Saturday. I don't know, um I was in Wales on Saturday, so it would have been Thursday, uh on Thursday, and um it was really hot then as well. And there was a girl there, she must have been 21, 20, 21, and I was sat with her and I was doing the SpongeBob with all the people here, and I did the routine um with her. Um I just thought, why not? Because she was loving it, and I thought I'd see if I can get over there, and it flawed her first time I've ever done it with an adult. It's always been with kids, first time I've ever done it with an adult, and it flawed her, and the crowd went mad for it, and I was really, really chuffed. So, yeah, WgmagicShop.com uh and it's called SBBE. Uh, and it's available for £7.50. What a bargain!

SPEAKER_03

But it's going up, right?

SPEAKER_02

It is going up. You just reminded me of that, actually. Uh yeah, it will be going up. Um I'll leave it, I'll leave it at that price till the end of the week. Okay, I'll leave it there at that price till the end of the week, and then if you want to get it, yeah, you can. So yeah, yeah, it's a bargain.

SPEAKER_03

Cool. And it is a bargain. It is a bargain. Um so Will Thompson said, are we opening the shop on Saturday the 30th? Yes, we will be opening the shop uh standard hours 10 till 2 on the Saturday. So hopefully we'll see you there, Will. Um and let's see what other na uh UK Navy Niges said, Don't forget you actually get two bags in the set and all the coins you need except for the final Bitcoin. The tutorial is epic. Full of great slides and routines. So a lot of people were saying uh two days for the convention. So we will have a look at that. Um let's have a look what else happening here. Uh Greg Chapman said, looking forward to uh checking out charged up later. Honestly, I don't think you'll be disappointed. I I think I agree with what most people are saying, and that is this is probably one of Craig's best releases. It's different when you talk about EDC, it really is. Mine is in fact, I've got two sets. I've got one set in my castle wallet because that's all the cards I need for my castle wallet in there. Um, and the other set are sitting there nice and proud in the front of my everyday wallet, which is the Assassin. Um, so that means I'm always ready to go. Perfect for mix and mingle, perfect for tables, all uh sort of any environment, and it's um very easy to do.

SPEAKER_02

Uh well, really, P it's self-working. You just have to follow the routine, and it does it itself. It's it's such a great, yeah. I can't face it enough.

SPEAKER_03

Um, Jason Staples said any news on the Shindig, Wayne, took that downly, didn't I?

SPEAKER_02

Uh yeah, tickets are available again at wgmagicshop.com. Um, and um I can tell you that what I haven't announced yet. I I'm gonna do an announcement. I'm gonna I'm gonna announce it, why not?

SPEAKER_03

Um so we've hang on, hang on, hang on, please. Right, you can announce it now.

SPEAKER_02

Um so we've got four lectures booked. I've announced two of them so far. Um, so we've got Vinny Sagoo, yeah, and we've got Michael Murray.

SPEAKER_03

Brilliant.

SPEAKER_02

Um Vinny Sagoo is fast becoming one of my fan favourites, he's amazing, his his stuff is very workable. I I I say this to everybody, he's like my my interpretation of a British Jay Sankey, in as much as he's got all of his stuff, he's very easy to do, looks very clever, and is completely foolproof, but and yet he's very commercial. Yeah, you can take it anywhere. He's so good. Uh, and plus he does a lot of math stuff on the side as well, which is uh my little thing. So, um yeah, uh Vinnie Seguo, I'm really pleased to have him. Michael Murray, again, an amazing lecturer, amazing magician, amazing creator. Uh, I'm very pleased and proud to have him there. And as we're already talking about him, I'm gonna announce right now that our third lecturer for the day is Mr. Craig Petty.

SPEAKER_03

So amazing.

SPEAKER_02

And then there's one more to announce, which we'll be we'll I'll do um probably next month or the month after. But Tickets are selling. We sold one I sold one this morning, actually. So tickets are selling, wgmagicshop.com. Uh, and uh yeah, the the the last convention of the year and the friendliest convention is very very relaxed, very um well.

SPEAKER_03

I I think we'll have to battle out for the friendliest now.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, the friendliest convention in the second part of the year.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, there you go. Equally as friendly.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, you could be the friendliest convention the first part of the year, I'll be friendliest convention the second part of the year.

SPEAKER_03

There we go. There we go.

SPEAKER_02

Um everyone comments about how relaxed it is at the Shindig as well.

SPEAKER_03

It is, it really is. It really is.

SPEAKER_02

It was a show in the evening, it's it's it's always a giggle. Um, yeah, it's great.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I mean, me and Jem went for the first time last year because we were always away the previous years, um, and we're coming again this year because it was just so enjoyable, even to the point where you said to me, Do you want to stand? And I still haven't made my mind up whether I want to be stuck behind the stand or just want to enjoy the day because it was so good. So um, yeah. Obviously, go pick yourself up tickets, and unlike the Alex Anne one, there are far fewer tickets for Wayne's one, so you've got to get in quick.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, we can only have about 75-80 people, so they are they are going, and and as we get close to it, it will all I always end up with a massive list of people who are waiting. So uh yeah, beat the rush, grab your ticket. Thank you very much.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, there you go.

SPEAKER_02

Um can I just say the the plug worked? Thank you, Darren. Darren's just picked up SBBE. So thank you very much.

SPEAKER_03

Brilliant. It is it's it's such a good little thing. I mean, if you do sponge balls, you should be doing this, or at least understand how to do it correctly, because it is something that gets amazing reactions. It's a little bit of business, but it's very magical and does get really good reactions without when I lecture.

SPEAKER_02

I always say it's it's one of two things that I do, the other is a coin thing. Um, it's one of two things that I think it's one of the strongest things I do. And there's nothing to it, there's no there's no work, it's just a silly moment that is really magical. The psychologic the psychology behind it is very intense, but the um yeah, it's it's it's one of the strongest things I do because of the reaction that it gets from the and you turn the spectator into the magician, so all the heat's off you. It's just a beautiful little moment. I love it.

SPEAKER_03

It's really good. Um, also, while we're here on the little podcasty thing, um BGT, two magicians in the final this year.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

It's gonna be good.

SPEAKER_02

I think uh so I watched it last night, the last one, uh the last episode. I think Jake had it, it was stolen from him, really. Um the the two acts that went through whilst very worthy. I don't one's a drone show, which was amazing, um, and and should definitely get some sort of spotlight, but I don't know if it's right for the for the BGT final. Um yeah, I don't I don't know. I'm a bit mixed in motions about the other one, the choir, uh they were very good, but but no different from any other choir, really. Not in my maybe I'm biased because of the magic. There were there were two, if you saw it, there were two. There was a little boy who sang and Jake, and I thought they were my two favourites for the for the final.

SPEAKER_03

Um Jake and who?

SPEAKER_02

Uh the little boy who who did the musical songs. I thought he was really good, very powerful voice, very confident, very confident on stage, but very nervous beforehand. You can see the nerves. He was just amazing. And do you know what I really liked about him as well was when they announced he came third, spoiler alert if you haven't watched that, when they announced he went third, the first thing he did was he took two steps forward, turned around and clapped to the other two people to Jake and the choir, yeah, and acknowledged how much they had done. So, and to me, being that humble and that like that, it just yeah, I thought it was really good. Um and then um, yeah, Jake, uh, I can't think what his last name is, but oh the magician, Jake.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, great.

SPEAKER_02

Um, yeah, he he did really good. I thought I thought the act this act that he did was a lot better than the audition.

SPEAKER_03

So was he I I haven't watched it, was he top three? He was top two. Top two, yes. Oh, yeah, because one of them goes through on the judges mode, isn't it?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, and then and then only one goes through from the public vote. So one gets the judge's buzzer, which was the drone show, and it got down to Jake and the Farmer's Choir. Um, and uh yeah, I I yeah, I just felt I think he was it was stolen. He his act was really good, it was really emotive. Um yeah, I thought it was really good.

SPEAKER_03

Did you find the farmers choir a bit sheepish?

SPEAKER_02

Well, they weren't bad, but Goodman's on fire, literally burning. Um uh they were very good, they were really, really good. Um yeah, but they I don't know, they just for me it was sort of like they didn't it didn't it wasn't bam, you know, it wasn't uh you know, so yeah, I don't know, I don't know. I think they'll they'll get knocked out in the in the finals. There are other acts that are more show show than than a choir. Uh but yeah, I thought Jake Jake or Jake Jake, yeah, Jake. Stolen from him. Uh I haven't seen Rafferty's yet, but uh apparently he was amazing.

SPEAKER_03

Um yeah, Rafferty was very good. I watch that on YouTube and I watch Jake's on YouTube just to catch up.

SPEAKER_02

He um I saw Rafferty's on my Facebook and I saw him out and about before the before the live. Um and uh he was out in the the crowds literally just lapping it up, having selfies and they were being posted on his Facebook and his Instagram, and and you look at it and you go, Well, you know, he's a teenager, that's exactly what he should be doing.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And and he's a real crowd pleaser, he's a he's a lovely guy, a really, really he's got a lovely smile, he's got that real innocence about him, and a great smile, and a great character, very likable, very, very likable. Um, yeah, I think he'll do really well. And if even if he doesn't win it, I think this will be a huge step in his career uh going forward. He's really, yeah, it was amazing.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, no.

SPEAKER_02

I haven't seen the actor though, I need to watch it. His first act was really good. So this uh yeah, the other magician is the f uh the Austrian guy, isn't it?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Um be interesting to see what he does in the final as well, right?

SPEAKER_03

So Darren Baines sent a message, um, and we have sort of worked out what the problem is, uh, and we're we're currently Shopify are trying to rectify it. Now, what's happened is for some reason something on our back end, we didn't do it, something has been turned on, which was B2B. So basically business to business. So, what's happening? Sometimes when certain customers are logging in, it's logging them in as their self or it's logging them in as a B2B customer. Um, now you're gonna see no difference, but the system now separates you, even though everything is still connected to that one email, it's separated it. So you may find that um some of your order history is missing, it's still there, but it's been separated for some reason. So we've got Shopify looking into it at the moment and trying to work out why it's happened and how to basically get it all back together, but it's not going to affect anything at the moment. Um, but hopefully within the next few days, they would have worked out what has caused it and rectify it so everything should be back to normal. But all the information is there, and it is all connected to your email. So once they work out what this thing is that's happened, it should all go back to normal. So we are on the case, don't you worry about that.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, you're not you're not gonna lose your loyalty points, you're not gonna lose your wish list. Yeah, um, I know some people, if you go to the checkout, at the checkout, there's a new little box that pops up that says spend or redeem points, and in there it will show you what loyalty points you have, even though you can't see them in the loyalty section, sometimes you can see them there. I know I can, but that's see.

SPEAKER_03

This is the problem. If it's got you logged in as a B2B, it won't know you've got an account. No, even though it's the same email. It's a really weird way they've got of doing it. They're they're saying, you know, if you're a business-to-business customer or a retail customer, even though you can log in with the same details, you'll have two separate accounts, which to me doesn't make sense. It should all be combined, even if you're a B2B. Yeah. You know, I yeah, I I don't get it, but they're they are looking at it, the web guys are looking at it, so hopefully it's all gonna be back to normal, hopefully, by the end of this week. Um, so let's have a look. What else?

SPEAKER_02

There was another question that you just shared before you got to Darren's one, which we didn't address, which was um gentleman asked, have we set a date yet for the convention?

SPEAKER_03

All that information will be released in in the next sort of I I would say hopefully within the next three weeks or so we should announce the dates and tickets should be available. Um yeah, so Jason said he's got uh the same problem. Jason, if it went through the system, then it will all be there for you. But like I said, this is affecting X amount of customers, but the information is still there, and if you wanted to buy something and you wanted to pay with points, then obviously you can ring because we've got access to your point history here, so we will have it all, so that's not a problem.

SPEAKER_02

Uh can I share something non-magical very quickly? Yeah, go on. So at the weekend I was in Wales, as I said, um, we popped into this little supermarket to get some we stayed in one of those little pods, those little yurts. Yeah, trace it on um escape to the country, and I popped into a local supermarket and um I found a lovely little treat. Now, those that know me know I like a whiskey, um, and I'm my favourite's Jack Daniels, but I found a Jim Bean, um, and it's Jim Bean pineapple.

SPEAKER_04

Hmm.

SPEAKER_02

And it says here uh pineapple spirit drink with notes of oak and caramel.

SPEAKER_03

I'm I'm starting to feel like a bit like Alan Titmarsh at the moment, with our little drinks correspondent who's gonna be making little cocktails and stuff for us later. Have you tried it yet?

SPEAKER_02

No, no, I'll give it a try later on.

SPEAKER_03

Well, we went to a food fair in Tunbridge Wells yesterday, and we did pick up some alcohol. We got some it's called Moonshine, but it was this right chocolatey type drink, which um both Jenny and Taylor absolutely loved.

SPEAKER_02

Um we had a we had a bottle in the fridge from Christmas and we opened it yesterday at Tracy's. It was a passion fruit martini. And I drunk a little bit of it, and I I was I wasn't convinced. I was like, Yeah, and Tracy was like, Well, why don't you like it? I said, I think I just prefer my martinis if they're chocolate, after those chocolate ones we had in town, and they are so nice, yeah. Um, but yeah, but that's that yeah, I'm looking forward to trying that. Pineapple.

SPEAKER_03

We've got here, David said, I want a coin trick that's easy to learn, but only want to pay a maximum of a hundred. I would say go for bag reborn. You're gonna get tons of coin effects on there, it's a lot cheaper than £100. I think it's about £50 quid, is it? £45, £50.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, bad. A moment attack of the bag, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Uh it's called Bag Reborn.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, bag reborn.

SPEAKER_03

Um, UK Navy Nigel said, Come on, Wayne, don't hold us in suspenders. Give us give the whiskey a swig.

SPEAKER_02

I'm in trouble now because my mother-in-law's watching. Oh my god, it really smells a pineapple.

SPEAKER_03

Go go pour yourself a little drop.

SPEAKER_02

I will say, um, Jim Beam do a really nice one at Christmas, which is maple. Like Jack Daniels Honey, they do a Jim Bean maple, and that I can drink now. It's so delicious. Let me let me let me do a shot. Hold on.

SPEAKER_03

There you go. For your entertainment pleasure, Wayne is now gonna be drinking alcohol on our live, which uh shouldn't really be happening.

SPEAKER_02

It's five o'clock somewhere. I got my Terminator 2 shot glass.

SPEAKER_03

Nice.

SPEAKER_02

Yes.

SPEAKER_03

That will be back.

SPEAKER_02

There's a there's a have you ever seen Reacher, the TV show Reacher?

SPEAKER_03

No.

SPEAKER_02

So Reacher's a great it's a great section of books, and they did the second season. Um Reacher always uses uh fake names of baseball players when he checks into hotels, and one of his characters is with him, she always does movie actresses, movie characters. So Robert Patrick is the baddie in this series, he's the the main bad guy, and um she checks into the hotel under the name Sarah Connor in Terminator, and of course he was the Terminator in Terminator 2, and uh and they went, Oh, we've got some woman here checked in, and he looks at it and goes, Who the hell's Sarah Connor? And it's such a lovely little moment. Right, here we go. It smells lovely. I'm not gonna lie, it smells amazing. Here we go.

SPEAKER_03

Just bloody drink it.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it tastes a pineapple. It's delicious. Was it nice? Yeah, really nice. I think yeah, if you're gonna mix it, I would add the the uh coke cherry. Cherry and the pineapple make a really nice uh that's that's really nice.

SPEAKER_03

There you go.

SPEAKER_02

So there's your done by the launch tonight.

SPEAKER_03

There's our little cocktail section sorted out for you all. Um that was nice. So we've also got any updates on the release for Simon Lipkin's Bill Effect. It's actually called bottom dollar. Um, we're hoping it might be out next month. It's our problem is just getting units. That that's the thing, because they're all handmade by Stevo. You get two gimmicks in each set, so we've got to get the dollars, and he's got to make all the gimmicks. Um, he is working on them.

SPEAKER_02

Um question we get asked quite a lot on the email is about the deck uh Bromley's deck penetration. When will that be released?

SPEAKER_03

Uh that should be with any luck the month after next. Nice. We've also got some more Bromley signature pieces coming back. Um, we've also got my V deck coming back. Um so yeah, there's quite a bit happening. Quite a bit happening. Um, both with us at Alakazam and with the 1914.

SPEAKER_02

So make sure you uh you keep your your eyes peeled for everything that's well no I was talking to you about earlier, I don't talk about the effect, but um Harry's got his first release with the 1914, hasn't he?

SPEAKER_03

Yep, that's our next 1914 release.

SPEAKER_02

That is amazing. Harry did it in the shop and it's beautiful. It's a really lovely effect. So um, yeah, make sure make sure you don't miss out on that one.

SPEAKER_03

Um actually Darren's just Darren's just reminded me of this. Suspect will be next month. Um yeah, suspect is next month. But we've also got a uh a live launch next week as well. It's a spotlight product, so um which is really good. But before I forget, remind me, Wayne in a minute to talk about unlimited, but in the meantime, Colin uh Jones enjoyed the convention so much that he had a tattoo to remind him of it.

SPEAKER_02

Look at that.

SPEAKER_03

How cool is that the Alakazam man on a tattoo. Now he is the second person I know that's got the Alakazam man. And as a tattoo. It's great, right?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it's lovely.

SPEAKER_03

Um, right, Unlimited. Before I forget. This coming Thursday, if you're a member of Unlimited, we have got an Alakazam Unlimited studio live for you. And what that is, that's a live online lecture delivered to the Studio Live section of Unlimited. It is included within your $4.99 a month. You don't have to pay a penny extra. Now, here's a little hack. If you're not an unlimited member, you can start a seven-day free trial today. Get access to absolutely everything, including my Cyclone, which we just had a great comment about earlier on. You get access to everything on there, and you'll even get access to the studio live. So if you're not a member of Unlimited, you can go take out a seven-day free trial and you can join us for that live lecture. And it won't cost you a penny.

SPEAKER_02

As long as you can till before the end of the seven days.

SPEAKER_03

Yes.

SPEAKER_02

Yes.

SPEAKER_03

Yes.

SPEAKER_02

But you won't want to because it's only $4.99 a month and it's unbelievable.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. I will say in the next month or two the price is going up by a pound.

SPEAKER_02

It's still the best bargain. It's still the best price product in Magic.

SPEAKER_03

$5.99 a month. It's just that the um the the hosting company and everything else, they've all put their prices up, so we've had to put it up just to cover the the platform itself. But it's going up to $5.99 a month. But as Wayne said, we update it every week with new content. I mean, if you just download Wayne's SpongeBob course, you've got half a year's worth of value financially out of that alone. Yeah. You know, you down you learn Cyclone, that's you know, three or four months worth of value in in just that one trick product.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Um very quickly, I'll just throw this in as well as we're talking about Cyclone. If you buy the Cyclone kicker off the website, it doesn't come with any instructions. The instructions are available on unlimited. So you can learn it for free, you can make it up for free. You just the the kicker is the the the bit you're paying for.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

So yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Um actually it was Roy that used a kicker. I think it was in a competition. Um yeah. Roy, how did you get on with it? And did you use the yeah, did you use just Cyclone or did you use the kicker as well? Let us know in the chat if you're still watching. Um let me have a look. I have actually got oh, I'm gonna play this little video as well before we go because recently I went away with my good friend Leo Schmetzer's Jenny and Leo's wife, and I took one of these, I loaded it up, stuck it in my bag, and this contained all my magic for our trip. So let me uh let me play this now. There we go. So that's the Maverick wallet, um, or the the Maverick Pount, should I say? Uh we've got the Maverick two now, which we've upgraded the material. It's now ballistic cotton or something. It sounds really cool. Um, but yeah, it's great. It just to pack a few tricks in, you've got that thing, you got your mini sharpie, boom, you're ready to go. And I I had enough magic in there for my trip away. And alright, I wasn't out there performing all the time, but you know, you've got what you need in there. Um and Rich Relly says, the Maverick the Maverick carries my number one walk-around mentalism set of packages, folded billets, cards, my opener and a pen. Yeah, it's great. Um so here's a good question actually, because um I know that uh this is always a question that people ask, and this is always something that gets bought up on, you know, when when people start doing magic and they start going, oh I think I've got enough magic and I don't need to buy any more and this, that, and the other. I've got a I've got a shop full of magic, and I still buy myself tricks. I still buy myself magic, and I tell you what, um, I either buy them because I know I'm gonna perform them, or I buy them to expand my knowledge. There's some tricks that I see, and I know that it I'll never perform it, but the effect interests me, and what interests me even more is the thinking behind the effect, the subtleties and everything else within that effect. Um, and I know I mean Wayne's uh performs far more than I presume most of us do, but he's constantly buying new magic.

SPEAKER_02

I I have a I have a double it's double-edged for me here. So um yeah, I do. I'm constantly buying stuff. Um magic is my profession, but since the age of ten, it's also been my hobby. So I'll buy tricks that I've got no intention of performing in the real world um for whatever reason, but I want them. So uh on my shelf here, I can't see at the moment because it's got loads of shirts hanging up. But I've got the TCC um uh ball and vase. Now, maybe I'll take it if I used it in a show, maybe I'd use it. But for me, I like to get out when I'm here and I'm working on something and I want a little break for 10 minutes, but I won't want to switch off the brain, I'll get that down off the shelf and I'll perform it just for myself. Yeah, um, and it it's there, and that's my enjoyment, not because I need to do it for work, I want to do something for me with magic and get some enjoyment out of doing it. Demi deck. I don't think I'd ever take that out and perform it. You can do it, it's a great trick, it's just not for my performance style. Um I've done it in my parlor show a few times, but not in anywhere else. Um, but again, something else I like to get out and play with. If I've got the camera on, I do it to the camera so I can see it, it fools me even though I'm doing it, and I love it. And so I've got effects that I buy like that, and then I've got tricks that I buy because I'm gonna take them out and work them and use them.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I I'm exactly the same. I I still buy myself a lot of magic. I I do because I'd love it. I I just I love exactly what you said. I love learning stuff for myself, and these are things that this coming Saturday after work, all my one of my sisters has moved down, so she's not too far from my house now, and um she's invited me, my brother, and my other sisters round for a barbecue on Saturday. So some of these new bits I take round there, so they're they're what I use to entertain the family because they've seen my act, yeah, they've seen my close-up set. When I go out, I do my close-up set, you know, and they've mostly watched me doing that for the last 10 years. So when I'm sitting with people like that, or when I'm out with mates and everyone else that have seen my set, that's when I start bringing these other little bits out, you know. Um, they're not gonna go as part of my set per se. Um, but there's still tricks that I can perform to people. But I buy them, I buy a lot of stuff now, more just to learn, just to learn from the creator, learn the method, and um learn the thinking behind it. So I I personally I don't think you can ever have enough. The the more you learn, uh sorry, the more you know, the more your knowledge of magic grows, and that helps you with the tricks that you are doing. It might be totally unrelated with regards to the sleight of hand used and everything else, but there might be something in the explanation that you go, oh my god, that's so clever. I can use that with my Chicago opener.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Some little nuance or some little move or something, or a different way to force that you've never seen before, or something that you're doing that can be used with everything else. It's just uh I think most tricks have a hidden gem in them, don't they?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Whether it's a bit of advice or a bit of this or a bit of that, or a move, or a slide.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

We are fast approaching the end, Mr. P.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, yes, we are. So I'm gonna when this stops, I am setting up the live for this bad boy. Remember, seven o'clock tonight, uh, for charged up. Get be the first to see the trailer. We're gonna give you an unboxing. Um, and we have got stock in both Alexam, UK and USA, so they're ready to ship. You place your order tonight, they're gonna go out to you. Um, and this is an EDC you will carry. Mine is in my wallet all the time. It's in my wallet now, and it will be in my wallet forever, I should think, because it's just a no-brainer of an effect. So good. And Craig will be on the show later on as well. He certainly should be, yes. He's in Blackpool at the moment. Nice.

SPEAKER_02

Um, yeah, because Violet and Thea are performing at House of Secrets with Mark Waddington.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

So Ryland and Thea were performing at the Shindig as well, and based on your recommendation, I've asked that Thea does the rope routine.

SPEAKER_03

Oh mate, she does it fantastically. Have you seen you know the rope routine, don't you? Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I do it differently. I do a different routine with it. I do uh um a completely different thing with it. Um but yeah, um I saw the video for it and I was like, she's so smooth there. I was saying she's got an advantage. I was talking to Craig at the weekend, he phoned me on on uh Saturday morning and or Sunday morning, and um uh I said to him, Thea's got an advantage over Ryland in as much as she's got Ryland. Yeah, whereas Ryland didn't have anybody above him apart from his dad. So um she'll be able to size up some of the mistakes he made, and you can see her progressing so fast, yeah. You know, from from earlier videos last year, where you could see that she was a bit nervous here or a bit nervous there. Now she is like she's running that it won't be long until it's the Thea and Rylan show.

SPEAKER_03

She she's fantastic. I mean, Rylan's fantastic, but I I saw Thea's there was another video went up yesterday of her doing a sponge ball routine, and her transfer, her full false transfer was fantastic.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, so somebody commented on it and said yeah, yeah, that's the best false transfer I've ever seen.

SPEAKER_03

It was so it was just so natural, you know. She weren't looking at her hand, it was just just natural, just how it should be, you know. Um, and I know both the kids take it so seriously, like take it very seriously. They're not playing at it, they really want to be the best they can be, um, which is great. So, yeah. Um someone said, Does Craig ever slow down? Craig never slows down. I mean, we've probably got 17 plus effects of Craig's that we're still working on. Um yeah. So this is this is the first. There'll be another one not long after this one, to be fair. Um, coming out of Craig's once again, completely different. Uh, but yeah. So anyway, that does bring us to the end. It's now 3 pm. I've got to get tonight's live set up. So I want to thank Wayne for joining us as he does every week on this podcast live video sort of thing. I want to thank you guys for joining us and spending your hour with us on a Tuesday afternoon. Hopefully, we'll see you all at seven o'clock tonight. Um, Wayne, don't drink all that bottle.

SPEAKER_02

Uh, that's coke. Is um is there anything else happening this week?

SPEAKER_03

Uh yes, we've got the studio live on Thursday.

SPEAKER_02

Yep. There we go.

SPEAKER_03

So studio live Thursday, seven o'clock. Just log in to Alexam Unlimited and go to the studio live section and you'll be able to join us for the uh studio live. If you can't make the day or the time, don't worry, it will be recorded and it will be dropped into unlimited at some point for you to enjoy. Um, and if any of you are about in Ashford on Saturday, the shop is open from 10 till 2. So we will see you then. But anyway, Wayne, I'm off.

SPEAKER_02

Thank you very much. Thank you to everyone who picked up SPBE. Thank you very much. Have a lovely day. Enjoy the sunshine. Um it's the hottest day of the year this year. The hottest day on record, 35.

SPEAKER_03
